What this site knows about you
Almost nothing, and the parts that aren't nothing are listed here rather than buried.
The short version
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no advertising or tracking scripts, and has no contact form. It is a folder of static HTML files. There is no database, no account, no session, and nothing for me to look up about you afterwards.
What the host sees
The site is served by Vercel. Like every web server on earth, Vercel's edge network records the ordinary details of a request (IP address, user agent, the URL requested, timestamp) in its own operational logs. I do not have a per-visitor view of that data and I do not export, join or retain it anywhere else. It is governed by Vercel's own privacy policy, not mine.
What Google sees
Three typefaces (Fraunces, Newsreader and JetBrains Mono) are loaded from Google Fonts. That means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google therefore sees your IP address and user agent when you load a page here. This is the only third-party request the site makes, and it is the one thing on this page I am not entirely happy about. Self-hosting the font files removes it, and is on the list.
If you would rather not make that request at all, a content blocker set to block Google Fonts will not break anything. The site falls back to Georgia and your system monospace, and remains completely readable.
GitHub star counts
The star numbers on the work pages are fetched from the GitHub API once, on my build machine, at deploy time. Your browser never talks to GitHub on my behalf. That was a deliberate change: fetching them client-side would have leaked every visitor to a third-party API, and, because unauthenticated GitHub calls are rate-limited per IP, would have shown most visitors the wrong number anyway.
If you email me
Mail sent to subhashb.dev@zohomail.in lands in a Zoho mailbox I control. I keep correspondence for as long as it is useful and I do not add anyone to a list, because there is no list. There is no newsletter, and there will not be one.
There is deliberately no contact form here. A form on a static site means routing your message through a third-party form service that neither of us needs in the loop, so the site uses plain email and a Topmate link instead.
Embedded and linked things
Images and the hidden audio track are served from this domain, not a CDN. Outbound links to GitHub, LinkedIn and Topmate are ordinary links. Following one puts you on their site under their policy, and nothing about you is passed along in the URL when you go.
Children
This is a professional portfolio and is not directed at children. Since nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from them either.
Changes
If this ever stops being true, if I add analytics, a form, or anything that touches a visitor's data, I will change this page and the date at the top of it in the same commit that ships the change. The page lives in the same Git repository as the site, so its history is public.
